AN OFFICIAL TIMELINE Book Leads To Debate About Whether The Scarlet Witch Is Alive Or Dead

In WandaVision, we saw Wanda Maximoff finally become the Scarlet Witch. However, her evolution ended on a tragic note when she was forced to drop the Hex around Westview and say goodbye to The Vision and her children, Tommy and Billy.

By the time Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness rolled around, the Darkhold had corrupted the Avenger and she went on a rampage through countless realities in an effort to find Variants of her twin boys.

Verging on being a full-blown villain by the time all was said and done, Wanda eventually saw the error of her ways and appeared to bury herself beneath Wundagore after using her powers to destroy every possible copy of the Darkhold throughout the Multiverse.

Fans have since argued back and forth about whether Wanda survived – possibly teleporting herself to safety – but does The MCU: An Official Timeline book offer new insights into her current status?

As you can see below, it says that when the mountain collapsed, she “[ended] two great threats to all of the Multiverse.” Some have taken that as confirmation the Scarlet Witch dead, but a reliable scooper suggests she simply “ended the threat that she herself posed, NOT herself.”

Previously, we’ve heard that the hero’s fate will be addressed in a Special Presentation tied to Agatha that’s partially based on “The Witches’ Road” storyline.

Reading between the lines, though, and Marvel Studios is likely just hedging its bets; if Elizabeth Olsen agrees to reprise the role, then Wanda lived but if she decides it’s time to move on, then the Doctor Strange sequel will be where her story ends. We’ll just have to wait and see.

Do you think the Scarlet Witch survived?
