LOKI Season 2 Promo Art Reveals The God Of Mischief’s New MCU Costume

The latest episode of Loki ended with quite the cliffhanger; following the gruesome death of Victor Timely, the Time Loom was overwhelmed by all those branching timelines and time itself…well, it appears to have been destroyed.

The God of Mischief will no doubt survive to fight another day as trailers have show him seemingly slipping through time all over again. However, looking beyond this series, what’s next for Loki?

We still don’t know, but some newly revealed promo art for season 2 showcases his next MCU costume. The anti-hero has largely shied away from “suiting up” since being captured by the TVA, but this looks more like the Loki of old (albeit with a 2023 update).

Is this a Loki that wanders the Multiverse fighting the good fight or does the Asgardian finally accept He Who Remains’ offer to take his place in the Citadel at the End of Time? Crucially, could this be a first look at Loki after he replaces Kang as the Multiverse Saga’s new big bad amid Jonathan Majors’ ongoing legal issues?

We’ll obviously have to wait and see.

Confirming the legitimacy of this promo art is the fact this isn’t the first time we’ve seen Loki’s new costume. A poster released for the Disney+ series earlier this year puts it front and centre; upon closer inspection, they’re clearly one and the same. We just didn’t realise at the time.

Loki season 2 will pick up in the aftermath of the shocking season finale when Loki finds himself in a battle for the soul of the Time Variance Authority. Along with Mobius, Hunter B-15 and a team of new and returning characters, Loki navigates an ever-expanding and increasingly dangerous multiverse in search of Sylvie, Judge Renslayer, Miss Minutes and the truth of what it means to possess free will and glorious purpose.

The series stars Tom Hiddleston, Sophia Di Martino, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Wunmi Mosaku, Eugene Cordero, Rafael Casal, Tara Strong, Kate Dickie, Liz Carr, Neil Ellice, with Jonathan Majors, Ke Huy Quan and Owen Wilson.

Justin Benson & Aaron Moorhead, Dan Deleeuw and Kasra Farahani direct episodes. The Head Writer is Eric Martin.

The first four episodes of Loki season 2 are now streaming on Disney+.
