THE MARVELS Star Lashana Lynch Hopes To Share Screen With These MCU Superheroes

Lashana Lynch made her MCU debut as Maria Rambeau in Captain Marvel, later reprising the role as a powered-up Variant in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness

Much to the disappointment of many fans, Earth-838’s Captain Marvel quickly met her maker at the hands of the unhinged Scarlet Witch. However, Lynch was given a second chance in The Marvels‘ mid-credits scene when she debuted as the X-Men Universe’s Binary.

We expect the actress to play a key role in the rest of the Multiverse Saga and, in a recent interview with Screen Rant to discuss Bob Marley: One Love, the No Time to Die star was asked which MCU characters she’s most excited to share the screen with.

“That’s a big question. Firstly, I don’t know. I don’t know anything. Because I know that whenever we’re asked a Marvel question, it’s like we know something, but I genuinely don’t,” she started. “So this is a fresh answer. I think Teyonah Paris is absolutely excellent. It’s been an honor being able to play her mom, which is strange because we’re a similar age.”

“So her…The original Avengers lot, I just love them and I didn’t get to work with everyone in my time in the franchise, so they would be brilliant to bring back. I love Tom Holland. He’s brilliant,” Lynch said of the Spider-Man actor.

“But there’s also new, fresh faces that haven’t been in the MCU yet that I just think that would be beautiful, to be able to really see some new energy with some of the most classic Marvel energy,” the actress added. “I think that would make…And even play on that within the story. I don’t know, maybe.”

We also caught up with Lynch last month and asked how it feels to have been added to the roster of the MCU’s first crack at the X-Men:

“I mean, even that sentence, I’m like, ‘Am I?’ That’s not a sentence that’s been put to me at all; we’ve not had a conversation about that. I dipped in for, I think a day. I think I had one day on that film which is wild for it to be so impactful. I was there for a day because I was on Matilda at the time, so that’s wild. I don’t know. I don’t know.”

“I used to find it a little bit of a hindrance to not know as I like to know what’s coming and plan, but I love now that I don’t know. I love that I didn’t know that was happening. That’s something that came across time as a slow plan. Well, for me, anyway. They probably had it planned the whole time. I genuinely don’t know what’s next, but I think with where the franchise is going, it’s naturally going to be exciting. And I’m excited to see where it goes next.”

Seeing Binary in action promises to be a blast, though it’s tough to say when and where that story – and Monica Rambeau’s reunion with her “mother” – is going to play out.
